Hidalgo BorderFest is celebrated every year during first weekend of March for the last 44 years.  This festival is the largest and oldest music, culture and heritage celebration in South Texas, attended by enthusiastic people of all ages, ethnicities, and tastes from Texas, many of the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Hidalgo Borderfest brings the community together in a fun and safe family environment while at the same time educating its guests about another culture. Each year, the festival has paid homage to a different country, bringing a bit of its culture and history to the Rio Grande Valley.
