City of Hidalgo Mourns and Honors Former City Manager Joe Vera
On behalf of the City of Hidalgo, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Joe Vera — a dedicated public servant, a visionary leader, and a beloved member of our community.
Mr. Vera faithfully served the City of Hidalgo as City Manager and led the Hidalgo Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years.

DICKER ROAD EXPANSION PROJECT
We celebrated the completion of a long-awaited 2 ½ miles of roadway spearheaded by Hidalgo County Precinct 2 Commissioner, Eddie Cantu. Dicker Road has been expanded from two lanes to five lanes from 23rd St through Jackson Rd. It’s an improvement resident and commercial businesses will benefit from. This is an area set to alleviate traffic and help with transporting goods and trade between two international bridges and other areas of opportunity and growth. Mayor Sergio Coronado and the city of Hidalgo administration continue to serve and find opportunities to complete major improvements to the quality of life for our city.
