Municipal Court

The Municipal Court is the judicial branch of the City of Hidalgo.  The court is committed to administering justice in a fair, efficient, and timely manner. The court adjudicates Class C misdemeanor cases. Municipal Court does not have jurisdiction over small claims, civil lawsuits and landlord-tenant cases.

About our Judge

Municipal Judge Ivan F. Perez performs duties as magistrates for defendants arrested in the City of Hidalgo. The Municipal Judge holds magistrate hearings every day of the week in order to inform defendants about their charge(s) and their rights and to set bond.

Information

In addition to a fine, other court costs mandated by state law will be charged.

• The costs differ depending on the offense.

• If you get a citation, you have 10 days to come by our court to make payment arrangements.

• If you are inquiring about your total balance or fine amount, please call (956) 843-8104.

• When requesting a fine arrangement payment plan, a one time payment fee of $25.00 will be assessed.

Payments mailed must be postmarked on or before your court appearance date.
